Niagara Peninsula Branch – Ann McKibbon – Topic: Canadian Nurse in the First World War

Date(s) - 18/11/2022
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Blanche Augustine, Wainfleet, was a Canadian Nurse in an Army Hospital in France during World War 1. Her great niece, Ann Augustine McKibbon, tells Blanche’s story based on the diary she kept. The talk also puts Blanche’s experiences in the context of the contributions Canadian nurses and other health care professionals made to the war effort. We as Canadians have much to be proud of based on the work of these people.

Much of Blanche’s war history is included in the History of Medicine collection in the University of Buffalo library system.
